1. Who processes your data
This Policy describes how the ScanLex project (hereinafter “we”, the “Operator”) processes data of users of the ScanLex app for Windows and of visitors to the scanlex.ru website. For any question about data processing, write to us at info@scanlex.ru.
By using the app or the website you agree to this Policy. Personal data is processed in accordance with Russian Federal Law No. 152-FZ “On Personal Data”.
2. The desktop app: your documents stay with you
We do not collect your documents. The ScanLex app for Windows is designed for local, offline recognition. All text and table recognition happens exclusively on your own device. We do not receive, store or transmit:
- the images, photos, scans and PDF files you open;
- the recognized text and its contents;
- file names and their contents;
- export results (Word, Excel, plain text or PDF).
This data never leaves your computer and is not available to us in any form. The app has no cloud features and no neural networks that send data to external servers.
3. Licensing system data
For the licensing system to work (trial period and key activation) the app contacts our server and transmits the minimum technical set of data required:
- A technical hardware fingerprint — an irreversible hash (SHA-256) of your computer's characteristics. It is used to bind the licence to the device and to protect against piracy. The hash cannot be used to reconstruct your PC configuration or to identify you as a person.
- App and OS versions — for compatibility, diagnostics and correct delivery of updates.
- Computer name — a technical marker for activation logs.
- Anonymised launch statistics — the fact of a launch and the licence status, used to assess how stable the product is.
The app itself does not ask for your name, phone number or address.
4. What the website collects
When you visit and use the scanlex.ru website, the following may be processed:
- E-mail address and account — if you register on the site we store your e-mail. It is needed for signing in to your account, password recovery, issuing the licence key and payment confirmations, and also for product e-mails (which you consent to when you register). We do not ask for your name, phone number or other personal data.
- Web-analytics data — we use Yandex.Metrica, which uses cookies to collect anonymised information about the visit (IP address, device and browser type, referral source, actions on pages). This helps us improve the site.
- The site's own technical cookies — unrelated to advertising and needed for the site to work: your account session, the chosen interface language and a note that you have already seen the cookie notice.
- Support enquiry data — if you e-mail us, we receive your address and the text of your message, which are used only to resolve your issue.
- Purchase intent — when you click a purchase button, an anonymised note about the chosen plan is recorded.
Note. You can disable cookies in your browser settings or use the official Yandex.Metrica opt-out tool.
5. Why we use the data
The information collected is used solely for the following purposes:
- creating an account and managing licences for the desktop app;
- protecting the app against unlicensed use;
- technical support and replies to your enquiries;
- diagnosing errors and improving the stability of the app;
- assessing how usable the website is (web analytics);
- sending e-mails about our products and updates — only to the address given at registration, with the option to unsubscribe at any time.
We do not profile users and we do not sell your data to advertising networks.
6. Sharing with third parties
We do not share your data with third parties, except in the following cases:
- Yandex LLC — only for anonymised web analytics (Yandex.Metrica) when you visit the website.
- The payment provider (YooKassa) — only when you pay for a licence: it receives the amount and payment details, as well as your e-mail address for the fiscal receipt. Bank card details are entered on the payment provider's side and are not passed to us.
- Where required by law — in cases expressly provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation.
Important. The contents of your documents are never shared with third parties under any circumstances, because we have no access to them.
7. Storage and protection
- Account data (e-mail) and technical licence information are stored on our servers for exactly as long as your account exists or your licence is valid.
- Local licence files are stored on your computer in your user profile folder.
- Data transfer between the website or the app and our server is protected by modern TLS (HTTPS) encryption.
- Access to the website infrastructure is strictly limited by administrative controls.
8. Your rights
Under Federal Law No. 152-FZ you have the full right to:
- request information about the processing of your data;
- demand that your account and e-mail be corrected, blocked or deleted entirely from our database;
- withdraw your consent to the processing of personal data;
- opt out of marketing and newsletter e-mails — via the dedicated link in any such message (essential service e-mails about your licence or a password reset still arrive).
To exercise these rights, write to info@scanlex.ru. We will reply and fulfil the request within the period established by law.
9. Children
Our website and product are not specifically intended for children and do not deliberately collect personal data of persons under 18.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version is always available at this address on the website, and the date of the last update is shown at the top of the document.
